P

     

    Papers, posters, workshop and video submissions are invited on the conference themes.

     

    Please note the official language of the conference is English.


    Papers

    Submit 500 word abstract by 31 January 2012, if accepted full papers by 30 March 2012.

     

    An abstract of approximately 500 words should be submitted in the first instance. This will be blind reviewed by the conference editorial board according to the criteria outlined in the following section. Abstracts must be anonymous (ie all references to the author and their institution should be removed), and should be accompanied by up to 6 keywords. A decision will be made by the conference editorial board whether to:

    • accept the abstract, and invite a full paper from the author, or
    • decline the proposal as unsuitable.

    If a full paper is invited, this should not exceed 5,000 words, and must also be anonymised.

    The following areas are suggested as a guide for the content of full papers:

    • Background/introduction
    • Methodology
    • Findings
    • Discussion
    • Conclusion
    • References

    All references must conform to the Harvard standard.

    Full papers will be included in the conference proceedings in CD format, and the conference website.

    On receipt of the full paper, a decision will be made by the editorial board either to:

    • accept the paper, with no further amends required, or
    • accept the paper, on the condition that the paper is revised to address any points raised by the reviewer.

    Any amendments requested by the editorial committee must be complete by 31 May 2012.

    Authors of accepted papers will be assigned a 30-minute parallel session in the conference programme (as a general rule, allow 20 minutes for presentation, and 10 for questions). Please submit any supporting materials such as PowerPoint presentations to the conference editorial committee by 29 June 2012.

    In the case of multiple authors, following acceptance of the full paper, at least one author must register to attend the conference.

     

    Workshop sessions

    Submit 500 word outline by 29 February 2012.

     

    A 500 word outline of the proposed session should be submitted. This will be blind reviewed by the conference editorial board according to the criteria outlined in the following section. Any technical requirements for the session, such as pcs or specialised audiovisual equipment, should also be outlined when submitting your proposal, and the conference organising committee will endeavour to facilitate your request. Proposals must be anonymous (ie all references to the author and their institution should be removed), and should be accompanied by up to 6 keywords.

    Authors of accepted proposals will be assigned a 60-minute workshop session in the conference programme. Please submit any supporting materials such as PowerPoint presentations to the conference editorial committee by 29 June 2012.

    In the case of multiple authors, following acceptance at least one author must register to attend the conference.

     

     

    Poster case study presentations

    Submit 300 word outline by 29 February 2012.

    A 300 word outline of the proposed poster should be submitted. This will be blind reviewed by the conference editorial board according to the criteria outlined in the following section. Proposals must be anonymous (ie all references to the author and their institution should be removed), and should be accompanied by up to 6 keywords.

    Accepted posters will be displayed in the main networking and exhibition area throughout the conference, and delegates will have the opportunity to put questions to authors on their research in a designated academic case studies session during the pre –conference drinks reception which will take place on Monday 16 July at 17:00.

    Posters should not exceed A1 size (841mm x 594mm) and can be displayed in either portrait or landscape format. Authors will be required to mail their poster in hard copy to the conference editorial committee by 29 June 2012.

     

    Video presentations

    Submit 300 word outline by 29 February 2012.

    A 300 word outline of the proposed video recording should be submitted. This will be blind reviewed by the conference editorial board according to the criteria outlined in the following section. Proposals must be anonymous (ie all references to the author and their institution should be removed), and should be accompanied by up to 6 keywords. Accepted video recordings must be submitted to the conference editorial committee by 29 June 2012, and will be loaded on the conference website.

    Video files may be submitted in any format, and individual recordings should not exceed 30 minutes.

     

    Review criteria

    Papers, posters, video and workshop submissions will be blind reviewed subject to the following review criteria:

     

    • Relevance to conference themes.
    • General relevance to debate on plagiarism and authenticity.
    • Contribution to existing body of knowledge on subject.
    • Exhibits sound methodology.
    • Potential for an engaging and informative presentation.
    • Plagiarism check acceptable.

    Publication and copyright

     

    Accepted abstracts, workshop, poster and video proposals will be made available via the conference website in advance of the conference, and will also be included in the printed programme, and the conference CD. Video presentations will be made available on the conference website. Full papers will be included on the conference CD which will be assigned an ISBN and will be provided to all conference delegates.

    The conference adopts an open publication model, by which individual authors/institutions retain copyright, but submissions are licenced for use with the Creative Commons Attribution-Non-Commercial-No Derivative Works 2.0 UK licence, which does not permit commercial use or changes to the original work.

    Online submission process

    Papers, posters, video and workshop submissions must be submitted to TurnitinUK for review by the conference editorial board. 

    The following basic format is required for submissions:

    • Title of proposed paper/workshop/poster or video presentation. Please do not include authors' names.
    • Abstract/proposal text.
    • Keywords
    • References (if appropriate).

    Please avoid use of text boxes, borders and other formatting in your submission if possible.
